I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me

Acts 28:23-24

“So when they had appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging, to whom he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning till evening. And some were persuaded by the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.”
NKJV

Interesting… Paul used what part of the Bible? He used the Hebrew Scriptures. Paul used the Old Testament to show that Jesus was the Messiah; Yeshua HaMashiach in Hebrew. It’s amazing to me how many churches, pastors, and Christians are willing to throw aside the Hebrew Scriptures calling them outdated or not relevant for today. We see Jesus all through the Old Testament! He’s in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and all the way through the Psalms and into the prophets. Friend, you cannot throw out the Hebrew Scriptures without saying that Jesus is no longer relevant. Some would try to say that there are other paths to God. It is true that all paths do lead to God, but there’s only one path that leads to heaven. Everyone will stand before God, but without Jesus, you will be eternally separated from heaven and God at that meeting.

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” NKJV

Jesus did not say, “I am one of many ways.” Friend, God has provided THE way for forgiveness and restoration to Him and that way is through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus died on a cross and was resurrected from the grave for our sins.

Jesus is the way to God’s forgiveness. He’s the only way.

Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” NKJV

Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” NKJV

Life Lesson: Jesus and the Bible teach us that Jesus is the only way to heaven.

Dear Father,
Thank You for providing the means for my salvation. Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the cross for my sins so that I can be saved. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins. Please give me the courage to be a witness for You here on earth. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our confessions create realities

The Redeemed Christian Church of GOD.
HOLY GHOST CONGRESS!
Theme: A NEW THING.
Date: 12-17 Dec, 2011.
Venue: Redemption camp, KM 46, Lagos Ibadan expressway, Nigeria.
You are invited!

Our confessions create realities.

Christianity! The Great Confession!

…..for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say…… (Hebrews 13:5-6)

Some of the remarkable achievements in our ministry that we see today are the results of the confessions  we made many year ago, and we’re still talking. We’re still creating new realities for today and the future with the word of faith in our mouths. This is because we’ve come to understand Christianity as “The Great Confession”.

No one can live a successful Christian life by being a “quiet believer.” by that, I mean believing, but not confessing. You must translate your believing into faith by “confessing” what you believe.

Some even feel they can pray, sing or carry out spiritual activities by just thinking in their minds. No! the Christian life is lived by words; it’s for talkers. Now, this has nothing to do with being talkative or loquacious, I’m referring to talking the Word of God! It’s not enough to believe. Neither is it scriptural to pray in your mind. You must voice out, and speak the right words. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 12:37, “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

In Mark 11:23, He again placed premium on words when He said “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.

The scripture’s insistence on declaration, confession, announcement or talking what you believe is futher amplified for us in Romans 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalth be saved.”

Your confessions create realities. When Jesus taught His disciples on faith, as we read in Mark 11:23 above, He laid much emphasis on “saying”, indicating the vital role of “speaking” in our lives as Christians. To live an effective Christian life, you have to put the Word of God on your lips; it’s God’s recipe for success as revealed in Joshua 1:8: “This book of law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt mediate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Every day, speak words that are consistent with God’s divine provisions, plans and purpose for your life. You talk your way out of any predicament, and talk yourself to the top! The power is in your mouth (Proverbs 18:21).

Confession

The Word of God is in my heart and in my mouth today, burning on my lips and prevailing as I speak it forth. My life is a testimony of Your grace, love and mercy because Your good and eternal Word is fulfilled in me always and forever, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

The good news

THE GOOD NEWS

What is The Good News?

The Good News is that God came to earth as human being (Our
Lord Jesus Christ), paid for our sin, and wants us to live with him in
Paradise.

Why is this Good News? God is offering us freedom, peace,
hope, and eternal life instead of judgement and death.

“This Good News tells us how God makes us right in His
sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scripture
says, ‘It is through faith that a
righteous person has life’”
(Romans 1:17).

That really is The
Good News!

May Our God The
Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus
Christ Name, Amen!

Faith, Hope and Love

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Image via Wikipedia

And now abideth faith, hope, love,
these three, but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Faith, Hope
and Love are the three creative principles of the human spirit. They are also
abiding principles, as indicated in our opening verse. This means that when all
else fail, these tree principles will remain; they’ll never pass away.

Animals
don’t have and can’t exhibit these principles, for they are qualities of the
human spirit. They are factors that help us understand and appreciate the
yearnings of the human nature. They help explain why we are the way we are, and
why we do things the way we do. When you get to understand faith, hope, and
love, you’ll understand yourself much better and also understand things about
God that you never knew.

Like all
laws, these three principles of faith, hope, and love don’t function on their
own; they must be applied or acted upon. Faith, hope and love are in your
spirit, but that doesn’t mean they are going to work on their own. You’re the
one to make a choice to act your faith, to always be hopeful towards God and to
walk in love.

With your
faith, you can do anything (Matthew 17:20): then, Romans 5:5 tells us, that
hope never disappoints.

The reason
hope doesn’t disappoints is that the love of God is shed abroad in our heart by
the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). Love in your heart gives life to your faith, for
the Bible says faith works by Love (Galatians 5:6). When you activate these
three principles in your life, you’ll be extraordinarily productive.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank You for granting
me understanding of faith, hope and love; I function today with these higher
principles of the kingdom, and declare that they’re producing positive
supernatural results as I put them to work
in my life, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Faith Is Based On The Word Of God, Not “Optimism”

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Image via Wikipedia

So then faith cometh by
hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

The faith that works and produces result is the one that’s
based on God’s Word. Someone may say, “I’m very hopeful and confident about the
future; I’m optimistic that the miracle I’m expecting will come to pass!” as
beautiful as that may sound, it’s not faith. You must have the Word of God as
the basis for your believing and confession, for faith is based on God’s Word;
it’s the response of the human spirit to the Word of God.

Faith is expressed when you act on the Word. The Apostle Paul
expounded in the Book of Romans how Abraham demonstrated strong faith on the
basis of what God told him in Genesis 17:5 “……for
a father of many nations have I made thee”
. hence the Bible says “He staggered
not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving
glory to God” (Romans 4:20). Abraham had God’s Word as evidence and spoke in
agreement with God; that was how his faith prevailed.

Another example is the story of the Syrophenician woman in
mark 7 ; a remarkable example of true faith. Her young daughter had an unclean spirit,
so she came and fell at the feet of the Master and beseeched Him to cast the
devil out her daughter (Mark 7:25-26). But in verse twenty seven, Jesus said to
her, “……let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the
children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.” Her response was “……yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table
eat of the children’s crumbs”
(Mark 7:28). Commending her faith, the Lord
Jesus said “…..For this saying goes thy
way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. And when she was come to her house,
she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed”
(Mark
7:29-30). Observe that she acted on what Jesus said and went home; when she got
home she found her daughter healed. She didn’t act on mere optimism or impulse
of what she thought would happen, but on the Master’s infallible word.

Mere optimism is not a substitute for faith, for it doesn’t
have its foundation on God’s Word. It doesn’t matter how much you anticipate or
are hopeful for the best possible outcome in an endeavour, it still wouldn’t
work if your hope doesn’t translate to faith. True faith transcends the realms
of human theories, reasoning, impulses and optimism because faith is spiritual
and only come to you through the Word of God. So, for your faith to work and
produce results, it’s got to be based on God’s Word.

PRAYER

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, I
REJOICE TODAY AT YOUR WORD THAT’S BUILDING MY FAITH STRONG AND ENRICHING ME IN
ALL THINGS. YOUR WORD IS MY LIFE, AND THE LIGHT THAT SHOWS ME HOW TO WALK IN
THE PATHS OF VICTORY, PROSPERITY AND SUCCESS, FROM DAY TO DAY, IN JESUS CHRIST
NAME, AMEN!
