Healing Is God’s Will

Matthew 8:2, “And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.”

MATTHEW 8:1-4

Leprosy was a hated disease and its symptoms are described in detail in Leviticus 13:1-46. This leper believed Jesus could heal him, but doubted His willingness to heal him. Jesus showed him His willingness to heal, and since He is no respecter of persons, He established a precedent for us (Rom. 2:11). This leper did not know God’s will concerning healing, but this is not the case with us. The Word of God is the will of God, and it reveals that it is always God’s will to heal.

Isaiah 53:5, makes it clear that when Isaiah said “with his stripes we are healed”, he was speaking of the physical healing of our bodies. Jesus provided for physical healing as well as forgiveness of sins. The very word “save” (Gk.-”sozo”) is translated “made whole” in reference to physical healing in Matthew 9:22, Mark 5:34, and Luke 8:48. James 5:15 says, “the prayer of faith shall save (Gk.-”sozo”) the sick.” Many scriptures mention the healing of our bodies in conjunction with the forgiveness of our sins. Healing is a part of our salvation, just as much as the forgiveness of our sins.

Nowhere do we find Jesus refusing to heal anyone. In light of Jesus’ statement that He could do nothing of Himself, but only what He saw the Father do (Jn. 5:19 and 8:28-29), His actions are proof enough that it is always God’s will to heal. There are certain things Jesus suffered for us that we should not suffer. Jesus died for our sins so that we would not have to pay for them (Rom. 6:23). Jesus took our sicknesses and diseases so that we could walk in health (Mt. 8:17; 1 Pet. 2:24). Jesus became poor so that we, through His poverty, might be rich (2 Cor. 8:9). If God be for us, then no one can successfully be against us.

The Lord has made every provision for you to walk in all He has provided for you today. Don’t put it off a minute longer.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God Knows everything

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

God knows everything

God knows the future

I can tell you what is going to happen even before it happen (Isaiah 46:10)

During the 1990′s, highly educated and experienced economists predicted doom for the American economy, yet we experienced quarter after quarter of improved profits and higher productivity. Stock market consultants forecasted a market decline and advised clients to switch into safer financial investments, yet the stock market continued to climb to extraordinary heights.

The reality is that no one really knows what the economy will do. As someone once remarked, “If you lined up all the economists in the world one after another, you wouldn’t have enough to reach a conclusion.”

Now consider the foreknowledge of God. At one time, nothing existed but God, yet at any point in time, He knew the past, present, and future. He knew when He would create the universe, that Adam and Eve would sin, and that He would send a Saviour.

To prove His ability to predict the future, God gave us hundreds of prophecies in the Bible. One that fascinates me is the prophecy that the Jewish people would be called together as a nation.

The temple of Jerusalem was destroyed in A.D. 70 and the Jewish people scattered from their homeland. What were the chances that a people without a country could survive as a nation? Every other nation since then has disappeared into oblivion. But in 1948, the Jewish people re-established their homeland in Israel. The odds are astronomical of that happening after nearly two millennia.

God’s prophecies are 100 percent accurate because He not only knows the future, He also controls the future.

Your View of God Really Matters …

What are your two or three top concerns about the future? Knowing that God controls the future, and that He loves you, give your concerns to Him and receive His peace.

What More Does God Say?

Isaiah 42:8-9; Deuteronomy 30:3-5; Zephaniah 3:20

Because God knows everything, I will go to Him with all my questions and concerns!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God is Absolute Truth

God is Absolute Truth

A Young Radical

“The Word Of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword….it exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God.” (Hebrews 4:12-13)

Many years ago, I was speaking at a large university. A young radical student, who was the head of the Communist Party on campus, confronted me. He railed at me, because I was encouraging students to follow Christ.

Rather than argue, I invited him to come to our home for dinner. After dessert I said, “I want to read something to you from the Bible.” He reacted with obvious irritation. “I have read the Bible from cover to cover,” he exclaimed. “It’s a ridiculous book. It’s filled with contradictions, lies and myths.”

I replied, “If you don’t mind, I will read it anyway.”

I read to him from John, chapter 1: “Before anything else existed, there was Christ, with God. He has always been alive and is Himself God. He created everything there is — nothing exists that He didn’t make. Eternal life is in Him, and this life gives light to all mankind …” (The Living Bible)

When I concluded reading, he said, “Let me see that.” He read it thoughtfully, then handed the Bible back to me without comment.

Then I turned to Colossians, Chapter 1, which records, “Christ is the exact likeness of the unseen God….” (The Living Bible)

He was very sober. After reading a couple of other passages, he was obviously very moved. His entire countenance had changed.

Later, as he stood to leave, I asked him if he would sign our guest book. He penned these words, which I shall never forget: “The night of decision,” a decision to follow Christ.

Your View of God Really Matters …

When someone asks you if you believe if Jesus really is the only way to God, do you duck, argue or do you read (or quote) them Jesus’ very own words from the Bible? Who has greater credibility: you or Jesus? Today, let Jesus speak through you.

What More Does God Say?

Hebrews 4:12-13; Isaiah 55:9-11; Isaiah 40:8; Philippians 1:15-18

Because God is absolute truth, I will believe what He says and live accordingly

God Values Life

Ezekiel at 22 minutes of age

Ezekiel at 22 minutes of age (Photo credit: David T Jones)

God Values Life

He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.

Psalms 72:13-14

We have a tendency to think of ourselves as being more civil than those who have come before.

However, God measures a society by what it does to uphold the integrity, dignity and sanctity of life. God cries out against oppression. God does not believe anyone is disposable or expendable. He issues commands in the Bible to ensure that His people knew how precious life is: Leviticus 24:17 says, “If anyone takes the life of a human being, he must be put to death.”

The prophet Ezekiel speaks out against the people of Israel who have forgotten this truth. In Ezekiel 45:9 he says, “You have gone far enough, O princes of Israel! Give up your violence and oppression and do what is just and right!”

Because every life is precious to God, it must be precious to His people.

Our job as Christians is to take a stand against such atrocities and pray that God will turn this nation back to the values upon which it was founded.

Will You Let God? God is able!

English: Deuteronomy 8:18, Thou shalt remember...

Image via Wikipedia

Will You Let God? God is able!

If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your forefathers.

Deuteronomy 7:12

There are many believers today who have received answers to their prayers and don’t even know it. From the moment they prayed, the Lord sent the answer.

Yet when they were told what they needed to do they refused to listen. They had the attitude of Naaman, whose pride almost robbed him of his healing…or like Samson, they refused to give up their addictions and live a holy life.

God desires to heal His people in every instance. In fact, God desires that no sickness be among His people (Deuteronomy 7:15). Yet in many cases, people have illnesses because they fail to obey Him faithfully.

Obedience and faith are prerequisites to covenant fulfillment. Without them we cannot receive from God for He doesn’t reward rebellion nor can He operate in disbelief.

Is there something that you desire from God? Are you willing to walk in faith? Are you willing to obey no matter what?

If you are willing to let Him, God will do all that He has promised to do for you according to His Word.

Hallelujah! We now live in a time when all our debts to God have been cancelled and all the things the devil stole from us have been returned

Hallelujah! We now live in a time when all our debts to God have been cancelled and all the things the devil stole from us have been returned.

OUR DEBTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED

Luke 4:19, “To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

LUKE 4:16-30

This scripture had been written prophetically by the prophet Isaiah about 650 years prior to this time. It was read in Jewish synagogues thousands of times. But the one this verse was speaking of had never spoken it before. With this pronouncement, Jesus began the year of Jubilee.

The Year of Jubilee was described in Leviticus 25. It was a year when everyone left their fields unworked and kept a sabbath unto the Lord. The Lord gave the people a miraculous provision the year before this jubilee started that sustained them for three years until their crops could once again be harvested.

This jubilee was different than the other sabbatical years in that every debt was cancelled. All property was returned to its original owner and anyone who had been sold into slavery was set free. It was a year of new beginnings.

Jesus proclaimed a spiritual jubilee. We now live in a time when all our debts to God have been cancelled and all the things the devil stole from us have been returned. Even our slavery to the devil has come to an end through the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a time for rejoicing.

Jesus is our jubilee.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Thirsty? But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst

THIRSTY?  But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst

John 4:14, “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

JOHN 4:4-26

Jesus painted a beautiful picture of salvation in this passage. The salvation Jesus brings is like an artesian spring which doesn’t have to be pumped. It bubbles up constantly.

Unfortunately, not every Christian‘s experience matches Jesus’ description. Many people relate more to an old pump which has to be pumped and pumped. Just as a trickle of water comes, they have to rest. They lose their prime. The water stops. Then they have to start all over again.

Yet, Jesus said we would never thirst again. This doesn’t mean that one drink satisfies us forever. But, as we continue to avail ourselves of this water of life daily, we will be constantly refreshed. The well of His life is there, but we must partake.

The dryness in a Christian’s life comes when we substitute other things for the living water that only Jesus can give. Anytime a Christian begins to thirst again, it is not a reflection on the living water that Jesus gives, but rather an indication that we have been drinking from some other source.

“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3).

God can use you too

God can use you tooIsaiah 6:2

We mentioned this verse earlier this month, but it is such a strong   example of the worship that goes on in heaven that it is worth repeating. We   should emphasize the fact that one day each one of us will bow before God’s   throne and cry, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord our God.”

For now, the angels have the ability to see into a realm   of glory that you and I cannot visualize. We may have the Holy Spirit living   within us, but we have yet to stand in God’s presence and see His   unspeakable, indefinable glory. However, the angels know the power, might,   and glory there. And if we are sensitive to the Spirit’s presence within us,   we will experience touches of heaven here on earth.

Whenever you and I worship the Lord, we join the activity of the   angels. While there is an entire network of angels consistently moving   between heaven’s realm and earth’s atmosphere, there always is worship taking   place in heaven. The throne room is never empty and never void of praise and   adoration to God.

I often tell those who express feelings of confusion concerning their   lives and futures that if they would spend more time in worship, they would   know exactly what God wants them to do. I have never heard of a confused   angel. They know what the Lord wants and they do it. Not every angel is   assigned to His throne room. They all have different roles and ranks.

This is an excellent thing to keep in mind when you become worried.   God has placed you right where you are so you can be His minister of love,   hope, and truth to those around you. His love is not confined to a church   building. Philip quickly learned this when an angel instructed him, “Go . . .   to Gaza” (Acts 8:26). He did exactly as he was told and an Ethiopian official   was saved as a result of Philip’s obedience.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and   defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

I wonder what it would be like to see God (Isaiah 6)

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

I WONDER WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO SEE GOD (ISAIAH 6)

Prophet Isaiah found out!  He had a vision of what it would be like to
see God. And God was very great and mighty.

He is surrounded by angels. When the
angels spoke, the Temple shook and was filled with smoke. It was both wonderful
and frightening.

Seeing The Lord and listening to the praise of the angels,
Isaiah realized that he was unfit to be in God’s presence. He cried out because
of his sinfulness. Then an angel brought a burning coal and announced that his
sins are forgiven.

Our God is great and awesome; He is also loving and
forgiving. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that God is weak or small just
because you can’t see Him.

And don’t make mistake of ignoring the forgiveness He offers
through Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria
and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
