Get UP! And Claim Your Miracle!

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Get UP! And Claim Your Miracle!

But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” -Matthew
17:7

Today, Jesus is walking through a crowd. Suddenly He stops, turns, and picks you
out of the crowd. He looks you in the eye and asks you: Do You Want to be made Whole?
Do You Want a Miracle?

If your answer is “Yes, I want to be made whole, I want a miracle,” here is Christ‘s prescription to get well: Get UP! Get up and claim your miracle!

For example, men and women come to our Hope Center on Mondays and get a free meal,
free haircuts, and free clothing. In addition, the head of our ministry’s HR department
has been helping men and women with their resumes at the Hope Center. They bring
their resumes to Eileen, who reviews them, makes notes on them, goes home and revises
them until they’re up to professional standards. Bringing multiple copies with her
the following Monday, she goes over them with the men and women seeking employment.

A while back, a man came running up to Eileen and said, “I got a job! I got a job
and I have two days off! Sundays and Mondays – so I can come to church and help
out here during Monday Meals!”

He got up! He claimed his miracle! He got up and came to Hope Center. He got up
and brought his resume to Eileen. He got up, came back to Hope Center, and picked
up his revised resumes. Then he got up and applied for his miracle job. He continues
to get up every day, goes to work, and gets up every Sunday and Monday to give back
to God.

Do you want to be well? Do you want a miracle? Then get up! And claim your miracle!

PRAYER:

Lord, thank You for touching me today, for giving me renewed faith. With Your help,
I will get up today and walk into Your miracle for my life. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

How has fear kept you from getting up – getting up from depression, from failure,
from rejection, from discouragement? How can the touch of Jesus renew your faith
so you can get up and walk into your miracle?

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God always out gives us

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of
the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared
God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and
prayed to God alway
Acts 10:1

Cornelius was praying. Cornelius was giving. So God opened the door for
him to receive his salvation. God gave him the word of knowledge
immediately. He told him where to find Simon, what house he was in, and
the occupation of the person whose house he was in. Cornelius’ gift of
prayer and giving came as a memorial before God.

Thus, Cornelius was the first centurion to become saved. He was the
first centurion to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and speaking
in other tongues. Because he was consistent in prayer and giving, God
was able to bless him.

When you give constantly out of your love, God will make sure He
out-gives you. He will see your gift of love and be so blessed by it
that He will say, “I’ll give to him, too.”

Are You Worthy of a Miracle!

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Are You Worthy of a Miracle!

“We do not make requests of You because we are righteous, but because of Your great
mercy. Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For Your sake, my God, do
not delay, because Your city and your people bear your name.” -Daniel 9:18-19

Some people don’t say yes to their miracle because they don’t feel worthy of a miracle.
They mistakenly believe that God only heals or delivers saints, or those who are
good enough or important enough for God to step in miraculously.

“With all the BIG problems in the world – why would God care about me?”

“I must have sinned and I deserve the situation I am in.”

Such cause-and-effect thinking is misleading. So, we believe we deserve our suffering,
our disease, our failed relationships, our joblessness, and we don’t think we deserve
a miracle.

We receive miracles – not because we deserve them – but because God loves us, wants
to deliver us, and thereby reveal His glory in the process – so others will see
and say yes to their miracles!

So say “Yes” to your miracle – so God’s glory will be revealed!

PRAYER:

Lord, forgive me for thinking I am unworthy of a miracle. Thank You that You work
miracles today – not because we deserve them, but because You are merciful. So,
I ask today that Your name be glorified through Your miracle-working power. Amen.

How could your miracle bring glory to God?

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil

Luke 11:4 says: “”And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.”  When we pray, “Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil”, we know that prayer invites God into our battles. Prayer also invites us into the place where God can deliver us. It brings us to the place where God’s hand is waiting to be extended. His hand is strong with deliverance and healing, and in the place of prayer it can be released. Many times when we don’t pray, God is bound and separated from our problems. It’s not that He wants to be separated, but when He is without our prayer to invite Him in, He is automatically separated. The phrase, “lead us not”, does not mean that we are asking God to avoid taking us somewhere, but it means, “God, open our eyes when evil is coming. Unveil to us the smallest schemes and plans of the enemy so that we may respond and change course. Give us direction, and show us how to turn from the course where the enemy has laid a snare in our path.” God wants to be involved, and His involvement is filled with counsel, wisdom, the leading of His Spirit, and direction for your life. At the end of a prayer life that believes and depends on God, there is victory and deliverance.

Be led by God!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Prayer, the most powerful tool

Church of Jesus Christ (Zion's Branch) in Inde...

Prayer, the most powerful tool

Psalm 67:2 “That Your way be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.”

We are saved to save others. We are living in exiting days, the biggest harvest of souls ever is about to come in. Prayer is the most important tool for your mission. People may refuse God’s love, but they are defenceless against our prayers.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’

Psalm 14:1

Saying yes to your miracle might mean stepping out in faith and risking looking
foolish. What if you fail? What will people say about you? What will they think?
We put limits on ourselves and we remain stuck. We are afraid to take the step
of faith to say yes to the miracle because of what people will say.

When we at the ministry decided to file a Jeremiah 29:11 plan in the courts – a
plan for a miracle rather than a business plan as they were used to getting – we
risked looking foolish as a ministry.

What would people think if God did not give us a miracle? What would they think
of us? Would they think we were non-intellectuals? Stupid? Would we lose integrity?

What would they think of God? Were we risking His reputation as well as our own?

“God doesn’t need you or me to worry about His reputation. He can handle that on His own.”

Yet, that is exactly what I worried about when years ago I asked the children at
our academy pray for Mariah, a little girl with brain cancer. That’s exactly what
I worried about when she didn’t get well and it appeared she had lost the fight.
But God had the last word and it was good. Mariah was healed and the children had
the opportunity to participate in a miracle.

Say yes to your miracle. Step out in faith – even if it means risking our reputation
- even it means you might look foolish. Be a fool – for God!

PRAYER:

Lord, give me the courage and the faith I need to be all and only for You. Help
me with my unbelief. I would rather be a fool for You than be a fool without You.
Amen.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I
will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Ezekiel 36:26

Mark Twain said it: “Nobody likes change, except a wet baby.” And I would contend that Mark Twain has never changed a baby because even wet babies cry when they get
changed. They like it once they are changed – but they cry through the entire process.

The only times I have heard people ask for change are when they have overpaid for
something – extending their hands and asking, “Change, please?” Otherwise, nobody
likes change. Change is frightening. Change implies loss, grief, apprehension, fear,
even panic. Change is hard!

Sometimes we miss out on our miracle because saying yes to the miracle means that
we will have to give leadership to change, or we will have to accept change from
someone else, or we will have to change our location, our job, our career. And
change involves entering into the unknown, the unfamiliar, perhaps even hostile
territory.

But if you need a miracle, it is probably because things have not worked out as
they are. If you keep doing things the “same old, same old,” then you could get
your miracle today and again tomorrow and the next day and the next.

Ask God to give you the courage to change. And ask God to give you the courage to
say yes to your miracle. Saying yes could mean new life – a wonderful life! Say
yes today!

PRAYER:

Lord, I know I need to change, but I really don’t want to. Help me to focus on the
positive results of the change, versus the fear and sense of loss. Help me to focus
on the positive gains. With Your help, I can do it. Amen.

What change have you been putting off? How would your life positively change if
you were courageous enough to take the step today?

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Walk into Your Miracle Today

Giant pink ribbon on the corner of 5th and Mar...

Walk into Your Miracle Today!

“….just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too
might walk in newness of life.” -Romans 6:4

Jesus asks you today, “Do you want to be healed? Do you want a miracle?”

Why would anyone not say “Yes!” to their miracle?

Well, you might be held back from saying yes to your miracle because it would mean
that you would have to let go. For example, a woman recently came to see me. She
was living under an irrational fear that she was going to be stricken with cancer.
First, she thought she had breast cancer. But the doctor had told her there was
nothing wrong with her. Then, she thought a suspicious mole was skin cancer. Again,
the doctor examined her and told her that she did not have cancer. This went on
as she feared cancer in various parts of her body. And every time she called me
to share the good news that her fears were unfounded, I thought I detected a note
of disappoint in her voice. I thought, “Does she want to be diagnosed with cancer?”

Eventually I asked her a tough question: “What false benefit would you derive from
getting cancer?”
She looked appalled and then her eyes filled with tears. “My husband has been having an affair. I guess I was thinking that if I got cancer, it might make him feel guilty
and it would be a way for me to get back at him.”

“But it wouldn’t, would it?”

“No.”
She was hurting herself trying to hurt the one who had hurt her. And once she realized
that, she began to get well – she was healed! Not from cancer – because she didn’t
have cancer – but from the bitterness that was hurting her emotionally and probably
would have hurt her physically eventually.

You might have to let go of a way of life. You might have to let go of bitterness.
You might have to let go negative attention-seeking, even manipulative behaviour!

Let go and say “Yes!” to healing and to your miracle!

PRAYER:

Lord, thank You for revealing to me today that there is something in my life that
has held me back from the abundant life that You desire for me. Today, I submit
it to You! I ask You to deliver me from it. Thank You! Amen.

God Answers Every Prayer

God Answers Every Prayer

Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”

MATTHEW 7:6-8

Prayer which meets the requirements outlined in God’s Word is always answered. Many times we don’t perceive the answer because it always comes in the spiritual realm first before it is manifested in the physical realm. If we waver from our confident faith, then we abort the manifestation of that answer (Jas. 1:6-7; Heb. 10:35). But God did answer. Everyone who asks receives.

In the book of Daniel chapter 9, Daniel prayed a prayer and waited a relatively short period of time to see his answer to prayer. In less than three minutes the angel Gabriel appeared and answered all of his questions.

This same man prayed another prayer in Daniel chapter 10, but this time it took three weeks before he had an angelic messenger come and answer his questions. What was the difference? Most people believe that God answered one prayer in three minutes and the next prayer in three weeks. But Daniel 10:12, says “from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand,…thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.” Satan had hindered the second prayer from reaching Daniel. God was not the variable. God answers every prayer.

This is confirmed in Matthew 7:8, which says that everyone who asks receives, he that seeks will find, to him that knocks it is opened. God answers, but Satan can hinder our prayers in the spiritual realm before they ever physically manifest. If we understand that God gives the answer and that Satan is the one hindering, the truths of these scriptures will encourage us. God does answer prayer.

God is always answering your prayer. If you haven’t seen it manifest, don’t doubt God, but recognize that you’re fighting an enemy, and persevere. Stand on your faith. Pray without ceasing until you see the answer.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!
