Our God is mighty to save!

Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is in your midst, the Mighty One will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Our God is mighty to save!! Whatever circumstance you find yourself in today, the Mighty One will save! That loved one who is still in the world, the Mighty One will save. That co-worker who persecutes you, the Mighty One will save. The teenager you know, whom the world has no hope for, the Mighty One will save! Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God is in our midst.

Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

This goes along with Heb 13:5 “….I will never leave you nor forsake you”, God is in your midst. He is with you every step you take! He is with you in all that you do, you are never alone. He is your friend, comforter and helper in time of need. Call on Him today, in whatever circumstance you find yourself in, He is right there. He will rejoice with you in victories won and will be your strength in victories still to be won.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Because God Never Changes, My Future Is Secure And Eternal

Because God Never Changes, My Future Is Secure And Eternal

God Never Changes

Faith vs. Sight

“Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.”

(Romans 5:2)

Faith is essential to the Christian life. But until we realize our faith is in the God who never changes, we will tend to walk by sight.

All of us have natural, everyday faith. This is the faith we exhibit in the ordinary things we do. When we sip a glass of water, we trust that it is pure. When we board an airplane, we have faith that the builders, the air traffic controllers, and the pilot know what they are doing. This type of faith comes from our senses. If the water looks odd or smells funny, we do not drink it. If the pilot reeks of alcohol, we do not board the plane.

But spiritual faith does not depend on our senses. It is based on God’s consistent and trustworthy character. As George Mueller, 19th century British social reformer, explained, “Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man’s power ends.”

Although our circumstances may appear hopeless and our feelings may tell us to give up, we must not allow ourselves to be limited by the visible world. Instead, we should place our trust in the God who never changes.

Yet many times our faith extends only as far as we can see. An African impala antelope can jump higher than ten feet and a distance of more than thirty feet. Yet these magnificent creatures can be kept in an enclosure behind a three-foot wall. The reason? The antelope will not jump if it cannot see where its feet will fall. The impala’s dependency on its senses robs it of its freedom.

We, also, are often limited by our need to see before we will believe. Instead, we must improve our spiritual vision so that the walls of fear and doubt cannot doom us to a life of spiritual mediocrity.

Your View of God Really Matters …

If you really believed that God never changes, how would that affect the way you trust Him for the things you cannot see, or the circumstances you don’t understand?

Numbers 23:19; Jeremiah 17:7-9

Allow the Character of God to form in your life daily

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Allow the character of God to form in your life daily.

Proverbs 7:7-10 “I perceived among the youths, A young man devoid of understanding,

8 Passing along the street near her corner; And he took the path to her house

9 In the twilight, in the evening, In the black and dark night.

10 And there a woman met him, With the attire of a harlot, and a crafty heart.”
Young people especially are challenged today to remain pure and not get swept away by the

lusts of the flesh. The enemy has a clear strategy to draw men and women into fulfilling the

desires of the flesh instead of learning the value of putting their flesh on the altar daily and

allowing the character of God to form in their lives.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves

Fruits of Humility

An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends; he defies all sound judgment.

Proverbs 18:1

We have become a culture absorbed with self. Self-fulfillment and self-satisfaction, self-esteem and self-actualization are the battle cries of our day.

We use these cries to justify a multitude of sins. The sick, elderly, unwanted and disabled are easy to ignore in our quest for “self,” yet these are the very people Jesus reached out to. Philippians 2:3 tells us, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.”

The focus should not be on ourselves, but on Christ, who is the ultimate example of humility. The God of the universe came down to earth and humbled Himself by becoming subject to all the things human beings experience-fear, hunger, weariness.

In John 13:5, He even washes the feet of His disciples: “After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” Follow His example of humility today. Ask Him to guide you in living a life that honors Him.

Broken for a blessing

Broken for a blessing

Dear Friend,

Remodelling is a way of transforming and updating a house or place of business in order to make it more appealing, efficient, or useful. Usually, it involves a redesign on the inside of a building, but it can also include the outside of the property.

Those who have been through the process of remodelling know how extensive and upsetting it can be. Even in the best of circumstances, workers will still create dust and chaos. Yet, in order to enjoy something old being made new, you have to go through the process of remodelling. The same is true when you view God‘s plan for your life.

There are times in the life of every believer when he or she will go through a time of remodelling. It is a time when God is updating our life by stripping away old thoughts and habits and replacing them with His truths and principles. Instead of calling it remodelling, we call the process brokenness.

Just like the beginning phases of a construction program, it may be hard to imagine a beautiful outcome – especially when things have been torn apart. Sheetrock is missing, and tools are scattered from one end of your home to the other. However, before we can do the same, we have to be willing to allow God to give us spiritual eyes to see life from His perspective. After all, He is the One who holds the blueprints to our lives. Paul knew that there were many glorious benefits to the times he faced suffering. The greatest was his testimony of faith in Jesus Christ. No matter what befell him, Paul continued to trust in the One who had saved him and was in charge of his life. Have you come to a time of brokenness? If so, let God remodel your life, and you will be amazed at the outcome.

For His Kingdom

Be confident of this very thing that God who has started this good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ

Being confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6)

It’s impossible for you to fail

This should be one of our favourite scriptures. It should always remind us of the fact that we’re not walking alone, and assures us that God is more interested in our successes than we could ever be. The Lord is the One perfecting our lives, ensuring success in everything we do. Hence, it’s impossible for us to fail!

Well, your personal experience of life may have been one of failure. However, the Bible says “…as He (Jesus) is so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17). Jesus never failed and there wasn’t a moment in His earthly ministry He wished He never came. You also must come to the realization that you shouldn’t fail; failure is inconsistent with your new nature in Christ Jesus.

Ignorance is what leads some Christians into difficulty. Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”without the adequate knowledge of the Word, you can fail or remain in poverty or even be bound by one form of sickness or the other. So many have died this way in ignorance.

You need to know that God doesn’t get any glory from our failures or sufferings. He is glorified every time we take our stand on His Word!

Get into the Word today and walk everyday of your life in the glory of Our Heavenly Father! Amen!

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for bringing me out of darkness into Your marvellous light. Through the knowledge of the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, I stay strong and victorious every day. I’m more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, and I declare that I will not fail, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

The power of humility

The power of humility

“For by grace given me I say to every one of you. Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself only with sober judgement in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.”  Romans 12:3

Humility is the opposite of pride. It is a mental attitude of holiness and its major characteristic is not thinking of oneself more highly than one ought to.

Jesus said to the woman with a possessed daughter “it is not right to give bread to a dog.” many would call that a mean statement. At that point she could have reacted negatively to the degrading statement made by Jesus, but she did not. The humility with which she accepted the statement, made Jesus confirm her faith “O woman great is thy faith, be it unto thee even as thou wilt” and her daughter was made whole immediately.

It is humility that brings a soul to nothing before God, which also removes every hindrance to faith. One can only wonder what would have become of her daughter if she had reacted in pride like many would have.

Pride does not pay; the path to a higher life is from down upward, this is because; humility is the key to total sanctification and exaltation.

I must decrease that He (Christ) might increase!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Hope and Faithfulness: God cannot disappoint you, His faithfulness is forever sure

God cannot disappoint you, His faithfulness is forever sure. Hope and Faithfulness

Hope links with the future. Moreover, there is a link between hope and God because He is the One who controls tomorrow. Anyone in charge of tomorrow is definitely able to uphold hope.

Revelation 1:8 says, “I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, The Almighty”.

Hope is linked with tomorrow and God is the One who holds tomorrow. Do not let any man deceive you: no man holds tomorrow except God. This is why James warns against boasting about tomorrow while acknowledging that we need God – the one in control of tomorrow – to enter into tomorrow of our dreams (James 4:13-16). Many who bragged about tomorrow never lived to see it.

Another way God is linked with hope is through His faithfulness. Deuteronomy 7:9 says, “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that loves Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations.”

God is extremely faithful. The quality of His faithfulness in keeping promises and agreements is unparalleled. There are some people around us who make simple promises that they can easily fulfil yet, they fail to fulfil them because they lack the discipline in faithfulness.

Putting all your hope in an unfaithful man can lead to great embarrassment and loss when the fellow suddenly disappoints you at a crucial time.

God cannot disappoint you! Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?”

God doesn’t only keep covenants but He is the greatest covenant keeper as He can fulfil His promise to an individual or a family for up to a thousand generations!

What a wonderful God we serve!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Excelling In Life

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Excelling  In Life
by Pastor Afolabi

People often busy themselves with some  activity that they believe would give them an edge for excellence in various  areas of their lives. For some, it is enrolling for that extra on-the-job  course to sharpen their business acumen; for others, it’s hiring the services  of a pro trainer or coach to improve their skills in some sport. For some  others still, it is sitting for weeks, months or even years under the tutorship  of world class professors and ultimately obtaining a first class degree from  some renowned institution in well acclaimed areas of the world. And maybe for  some, recruiting the best skilled hands to execute the goals of their companies  or organizations would definitely do the “excelling” trick.

These are undeniably laudable efforts,  worthy of emulation. However, that individual who will become truly excellent  in his or her life must primarily learn and apply God‘s principles and skills  of living. Man is a created being; and must necessarily seek to know his  Creator, who having made the product, understands his full functions and  specified his operations; and thus knows what man can achieve, and how and when  best he can achieve it. The Bible is the product manual and must therefore be  the pivot and reference for whoever will maximize his potentials, and  ultimately excel at his endeavours as God’s divine product.

Excelling is not an act or performance,  which is here for a moment only to disappear into oblivion. Rather, it ought to  be a way of life. Excelling in life requires 100% usage of one’s mind; and  one’s capability and its utilization can be reviewed and improved by choice and  at will. A poet once said, “Few are born with talent that excel, but all  are capable of living well.” Rarely will an infant have an angel descend  at his birth and whisper in his ear “You are among the few born with  talent.” Often times, the infant himself grows up to recognize his  talents, and sets the ball rolling to achieve his goals, with a touch of  excellence. Not many are born into the world with the tag “WINNER”.  Thus, winning and doing so excellently is indeed a matter of choice.

So what you need to do is to always  acknowledge yourself as the best product of a painstaking manufacturer, laden  with innate abilities, great talents and limitless potentials. And these, when  put to the right and timely use, according to the principles provided in the  manufacturer’s manual – the Bible – will definitely produce excellent results.

Constantly apply yourself to training and imbibe fresh and   updated information in your field of expertise, or whatever area of endeavour   you seek to pursue. Become consistent, diligent and continually improve on your   skills and personality, always staying abreast of the facts in your field of   play. Soon enough, excelling in life will be your sweet story to tell.
