You Can Also Do God’s Work.
Text:
Romans 12:11
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
1 Thessalonian 4:11
And to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,
Ephesians 4:7-14
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Introduction:
Every one created by God has the ability to do one thing or the other for God. Everyone is important in the hand of God; you can also do God’s work.
Some Areas Through Which You Can Do God’s Work:
1. Preaching
Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Act 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
2. Praying
1 Thessalonian 5:17
Pray without ceasing
3. Counselling
Colossians 3:16
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
4. Teaching
Ephesians 4:11
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
5. Evangelism
1 Corinthians 12:28
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Conclusion:
In appreciation for the life given to us, we all need to make ourselves available for His usage and glory. Everyone should be useful to God.
Thank You Jesus!
